SIMPLE AND EASY VEGETABLE PULAVU

    INGREDIENTS
  • Rice - 1 cup kaima rice
  • Vegetables - carrot (half), beans(5nos)
  • Spices - bayleaf(1), cinnamon stick ( 1 small), cardomon(3), cloves (4), star(1)
  • Ghee(2Tsp)
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Lemon juice - half lemon
  • Onion - 1
  • Cashews and raisins
  • Corriander leaf
  • Mint leaves
INITIAL STEPS
  • Wash and soak rice for 30mins
  • Heat some oil in a pan and fry the raisins and cashews till brown
  • Fry the onions in the oil 
  • Cut the veggies to small pieces
METHOD
  • Boil 2.5 cup of water
  • Add 1 cup cleaned and 30min soaked kaima rice
  • Add the vegetables 
  • Add the spices
  • Add lemon juice
  • Add salt
  • Stir everything
  • Cook eveeything in medium flame
  • Stir in between
  • When rice is 90% ready
  • Take another vessel for setting and put in a low flame
  • Add some ghee 
  • Add half of rice
  • Add fried onion
  • Add cashews and raisins
  • Add corriander and mint leaves
  • Add some ghee
  • Repeat the same layering with remaining rice
  • Close the vessel and cook for 5 mins in medium flame
  • Rice is ready to serve
  • Mix everything
  • Serve with raitha, pappad, chicken curry or vegetable curry
